SKILLS COMPETENCY AWARD

A Skills Competency Award (SCA) is a formal recognition of your accomplishment and commitment to lifelong learning. SCAs are generally awarded for completing a series of courses in different disciplines.  At the Scheinfeld Center we have a core Entrepreneurship SCA and can recommend electives beyond the SCA requirements to help focus your entrepreneurial skills in a particular discipline.  We can design a curriculum tailored to your specific professional development needs and goals.   We are developing course offerings in specialized interdisciplinary areas across campus, and plan to create more Entrepreneurship SCAs.  In addition to the core Entrepreneurship SCA, we have two levels of SCAs in Web Design Entrepreneurship.

BENEFITS OF AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP SCA:

  • Tailor your own educational program from a wide selection of SBCC offerings.
  • Receive recognition from SBCC for a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Interact with an outstanding group of peers outside of the college and into the industry or business of your interest.
  • SCAs offer a targeted, effective, and efficient approach to developing professionals through an à la carte selection of shorter, more focused programs.
  • Build the specific knowledge and competencies your organization or business needs to tackle its immediate and longer-term challenges.
  • Bring in relevant tools and best practices from leading faculty to improve your company strategy and performance.
  • Draw upon fresh perspectives from outside your company and your industry in developing creative solutions for your organization.
  • Through hands-on action learning, apply knowledge directly to create real-time solutions and initiatives for your business.
