Throughout the 2026/2027 academic year, join us for dynamic, hands-on Entrepreneurship & Innovation Discovery Days, providing opportunities to help you advance your livelihood through self-discovery and cultivating entrepreneurship-based skills and an innovative mindset. Lessen anxiety, gain confidence, and rekindle your excitement about the future of work. 

Experience entrepreneurship and innovation that starts from within and is accessible to all. We will share frameworks, tools, and experiences to help you innovate within startups and organizations alike. Connect with peers, colleagues, and diverse entrepreneurs who will inspire and guide you every step of the way. Two semesters, two paths, one community.

Open to SBCC students from all academic disciplines, all SBCC employees, and regional high school students and faculty. We’re in this together, and together we’re better. Hosted by SBCC’s Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

Key Terms to Know

Entrepreneur: Someone who builds a business venture from the ground up, innovating to create new in-demand products, services, or business models, taking on risk, and combining resources (such as labor, capital, and materials) to create something worth more than the sum of its parts.

Intrapreneur: Someone who acts like an entrepreneur inside an established company, using internal resources to launch new projects, products, services, or business models.

Innovation:  Introducing new ideas, creating original products or services, or finding better ways to generate positive outcomes as an intrapreneur or entrepreneur.

Event #1: Unleash YOUR Entrepreneurial DNA

Friday, September 25, 2026 • 2:00–3:30 PM • SBCC West Campus, BC 214

Whether you aspire to create your livelihood through a business venture or by bringing great ideas to life within an existing company—or even if you’re not quite sure—it all starts with understanding yourself. Discover your unique strengths, interests, values, and entrepreneurial qualities that form your Entrepreneurship DNA, and how you can put it to work creating your livelihood and value for others. This is where your entrepreneurial journey begins!

Event #2. Optimize Your Entrepreneurial Network

Wednesday, October 7, 2026 • 12:30–1:30 PM • SBCC West Campus, BC 214

Great ideas rarely grow in isolation. Entrepreneurs and innovators advance their ideas by building relationships with people who offer insights, expertise, resources, encouragement, and opportunities. Learn proven ways to build your own entrepreneurial network, strengthen your LinkedIn presence, and make valuable professional connections (even if networking doesn’t come naturally to you). Then put what you’ve learned into action with support from the Scheinfeld Networking Challenge every step of the way in the weeks ahead.

Event #3: Thrive in the Future of Work: Humans + AI Agents

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 • 5:00–8:30 PM 
Location: Meet at the Scheinfeld Center, BC 220, SBCC West Campus. We will walk together to the venue.

AI is changing how work gets done. But what does that mean specifically for you? Explore how people and AI agents are working together and what these changes mean for careers, businesses, and entrepreneurship. Connect with other entrepreneurs and peers as you discover where human strengths and entrepreneurial skills can create value in an AI-enabled world. Leave with greater clarity about the opportunities ahead and how you can prepare for them right now. Panel discussion and networking in collaboration with Ventech, Santa Barbara.

Event #4. Make It or Shape It: Own Your Path in Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship

Friday, November 6, 2026 • 2:00–3:30 PM• SBCC West Campus, BC Forum 
There is more than one way to be entrepreneurial! You can launch a business venture or bring your ideas, initiative, and innovation to life within an organization. During this panel discussion and mixer celebrating National Entrepreneurship Month, you’ll meet local entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs who do both. Hear how they recognize opportunities, solve problems, navigate challenges, and create value. We will also celebrate our individual breakthroughs and collective progress this semester, and explore important next steps and opportunities that will start when we reconnect in the Spring Semester.
