Texas Tacos is mobile food trailer aimed at serving affordable Texas-style breakfast tacos to college students in and around Isla Vista, California. Texas Tacos are authentic, delicious, customizable breakfast fare that’s affordable to the average college student and repeatedly enjoyable every day, given the option to “build your own taco.”

About the Founder
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Elvis has developed a passion for food and quality service over his seven years of working in the restaurant industry. His academic pursuit includes finishing his associate’s degree in communications at SBCC before transferring to UCSB to earn his bachelor’s degree.
Going through the ENT 208 Business Plan Development course was the main experience that propelled my business ideas into a manifestable plan with proper execution. This experience was motivating for me, not just on a financial level, but even more so giving me confidence that this idea was something that I could realistically follow through with. The Scheinfeld NVC was a great experience and hearing the support from each judge, fellow classmates, and family provides the true motivation to execute my future plans.

Elvis's Success Story
After living in Isla Vista for a couple of years it became obvious to me that there aren’t enough breakfast options in the area for students. Students need a fast, cheap, and consistently delicious breakfast option they can go to multiple times a week without hurting their budgets.
Texas Tacos solves the problem with authentic, affordable, high-quality, portable Texas-style breakfast tacos for college students in and around Isla Vista.
Texas Tacos are repeatedly enjoyable every day given the option to “build your own taco with toppings that include bacon, egg, hash brown style potatoes, creamy potatoes, chorizo, beans, and cheese, wrapped fresh homemade flour or corn tortilla and finished with either of two salsas: jalapeno avocado creamy salsa or a peanut oil-based salsa packed with Anejo chiles and spices for a smokey flavor. The tacos will stay warm for at least 25-30 minutes.
Elvis took first place in the 2021 Scheinfeld New Venture Challenge. He’s also a participant in the 2021 Scheinfeld Get REAL Accelerator and plans to launch Texas Tacos in October 2021, as well as compete for the $10,000 award at the Get REAL Shark Tank in November.
