1. Friday, October 13, 2-3:30 PM, BC Forum

Latine Estrellas in Business: Entrepreneurship Panel and Mixer. Prepare for a powerhouse event as Raices and the Scheinfeld Center bring together a distinguished panel of Latine entrepreneurs to inform, inspire, and embolden our Latine student entrepreneurs to take action toward making their entrepreneurship pursuits a reality while also building a strategic network of support organizations. 

2. Friday, October 20, 2-3:30 PM, BC Forum

Empowering Women in Business: Promoting Togetherness in an Individualistic Society.  Join SBCC’s Women in Business Club and the Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship for this dynamic panel discussion and networking event celebrating National Women’s Small Business Month.  We welcome our community and all SBCC and UCSB students and faculty to join us in exploring strategies for promoting workplace diversity and unity. Engage directly with our esteemed speakers during Q&A to discover how we all can cultivate collaboration and togetherness to empower women. Refreshments and networking are included.

3. Friday, October 27, NOON to 1:30 PM, BC Forum

Beyond Black Wallstreet: A Fireside Chat and Mixer with Entrepreneurs De’Von Truvel & Sinclair.  SBCCs Umoja Community and the Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship are teaming up to host one of the most iconic Black entrepreneur duos in the U.S. shaping the board game industry and entrepreneurship toward greater inclusivity and representation of Black culture. As founders of the board game, Play Black Wall Street, De’Von Truvel and Sinclair passionately promote Black wealth and health, historical awareness of Black history and excellence, and they champion the need for diversity, equity, and inclusion in business and entrepreneurship.  Together, they are inspirational examples of leveraging the power of creativity and innovation to create positive change.

4. Friday, November 3, 2-3:30 PM, BC Forum

Re-Enter, Rebuild & Rise: Entrepreneurship Panel & Mixer. Join us for this transformative panel discussion and networking event dedicated to inspiring and connecting formerly incarcerated and system-impacted individuals on their journey toward academic success, entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, and personal growth. Hear the panelists’ inspiring stories of using an entrepreneurial mindset and skills to overcome the challenges of society re-entry and finding and maintaining stable employment to now thrive in their chosen fields. This welcoming community-building opportunity will empower you to imagine and build a brighter future while fostering a supportive network that celebrates your resilience and determination.

5. Friday, November 17th, 2-3:30 PM, BC Forum

Join us for our final fall semester celebration and mixer featuring founders from our GetREAL Accelerator and our We EMPOWER Podcast Challenge to kickstart the holidays in a festive way.

 the We EMPOWER Podcast Challenge, an exciting opportunity inviting SBCC students, faculty, and staff to shatter the misconceptions surrounding entrepreneurship and pave the way for a more inclusive and diverse future in the business world.

In this challenge, we invite up-and-coming podcasters to challenge prevailing myths about entrepreneurship that have often deterred individuals from pursuing their dreams. Participants will craft engaging 5-minute podcast videos that identify these myths and provide compelling evidence to debunk them. 

The We EMPOWER Podcast Challenge empowers students to dive into the heart of entrepreneurship, replacing three prevalent stereotypes and myths with reality, and sharing the inspiring stories of those who have broken barriers and redefined success on their own terms. By showcasing the truths of entrepreneurship through interviews with real-world change-makers, we aim to foster a new era of inclusivity, inspiration, and innovation in the entrepreneurial landscape. 

Join us in breaking down these barriers, one podcast at a time, and let’s embark on a journey showing that We EMPOWER our future entrepreneurs!
